Payhembury Provisions News – September

2 September 2018 By Sue

Would you like some money for your village group or organisation? If so we need to hear from you before September 12th. Every year we are required to have a members meeting when we can update everyone with information about how the shop has been faring over the last year and also elect committee members as necessary. It is a time for you to ask questions and make suggestions about what you would like to be able to buy in the shop and generally improve the whole shopping experience for us all. One of the best parts of the evening is when we present grants to the various village organisations from the profits of our weekly raffle, topped up by some of our shop profits. Previous recipients have included the school PTFA, the Parish Paper, the Apple-pips, the church, the Bingo club, the Flower and Bulb show and the Cricket club, something for everyone!

Please put your application in writing, explaining how you would use the money, to our chairman David Curran c/o the shop by September 12th and the committee will then consider all requests. The annual members meeting is on:

Thursday, 11th October

7.30pm in the Parish Hall

All welcome, there may be cake!

Finally, we have had a fantastic sunny summer selling lashings of ice-creams, lollies, fizzy drinks and cool wine but now we’re looking ahead to the Autumn and are busy finding new products to sell; look out for the locally made, multi-award winning steamed puddings arriving on the shelves any day now.

Happy shopping!
