The locally grown bedding plants we have for sale at the shop are selling fast now summer’s here and we’re looking forward to seeing them all blooming in your beautiful hanging baskets and pots throughout the village.
More and more purchases at our shop are paid for with a card or put onto an account so we’ve listened to your suggestions and have agreed there will be no minimum spend for a contactless card purchase. If you still need that old-fashioned thing called cash we’re happy to oblige with cash-back but in that case, you do need to spend a minimum of 
just £5.
We’re all training ourselves to take a bag when we go shopping but there will be times when you go into the shop for a pint of milk and come out struggling to carry all those too good to miss spur of the moment purchases. We’re asking for your help in going plastic bag free from now on so if you have any reusable cloth 
shopping bags that you wouldn’t miss we’d love to have them in the shop. Our plan is for customers to be able to borrow them if they get caught short without a bag but then to return them to the shop for others to use. Of course, we’ll still have some paper 
carriers, free of charge, for less bulky purchases.
Finally, have you recently retired? Wondering what to do with your newly acquired spare time? Would you like to volunteer in the village shop? Ok Marty we’re looking at you here! We will miss your cheery face in the shop every day and even if you don’t volunteer we really hope you’ll pop in whenever you’re in the village for a chat and a cuppa. Up the Clarets!
