Things you can’t see; and top of the list are the new Photo Voltaic panels on the roof which were installed and commissioned last month by Dan. They must be positively pulsating with all the sunshine we have had and we can’t see all the lovely electricity they are producing either – I am writing this before I do my monthly meter reading (remember when a chap in a uniform came and did it for you?) so I can’t tell you by how much it has reduced our electricity bill, I hope significantly. It’s good for our long term view for the shop and thinking of that we had the wiring and infrastructure installed in the roof space (you can’t see that either) for further panels when the time and finances are right.
You can’t see the effort put into running the shop unless you happen to be around on delivery days or Sunday mornings when Anne wrestles with the rotas or are a fly on the wall when the invoice team do their monthly reckoning. But you can see the bright white new sliding door on the fruit and veg section, still some things to do to get the area looking tip top and a good veg friendly temperature but looking good.
Not that you can see alcohol itself – only the effects when it’s drunk – but if you could you’d notice its complete absence in our new range of alcohol free drinks, we’ve moved things around to make an ‘Alcohol Free section’ (top shelf to the left of the wines). Top of my list is 0.0 Guinness it really is a nice drink with enough taste to fool the mind. We have Becks AF too. John has set up a ‘Wine of the Month’ area (middle shelf to the left of the medicines) and he is going to look for some Alcohol-free wines and Prosecco to add to the Alcohol Free range. Some Alcohol-free cider is on order too.
