Churchmouse – February

30 January 2017 By Sue

miscDear Friends

I hope you can see Parchina and me playing in the snow. We really enjoyed a slight covering the other day. We really wanted more! We hope you all had a jolly New Year, we mice had a great celebration and we went to visit our cousins and stayed the night.

This year Mum and Dad allowed us to stay up until midnight and we danced in the field by our cousins’ nest as the clock struck 12. Oooooh it was such fun. Then we came inside for some lovely hot apple punch Auntie Dot had made, it warmed us up right to the end of our chilly toes. It’s a shame we don’t get much snow in Payhembury, our cousins in Scotland often write to us and tell us of all the fun that they have in the snow, well the young mice do, the older mice just curl up and go to sleep until it’s all over which can be a long time in Scotland.

We have enjoyed seeing the children come back to church after their holidays; we do miss their lovely miscsinging when they are away. By the time this is read we believe another exciting service will take place, the Christingle service. We do hope that perhaps someone will leave a Christingle for us to play with and to eat those lovely yummy sweets. It’s good to know that even in these dark days there is still the light of Jesus shining out. Actually when we have eaten the sweet we play roller ball with the orange, but don’t tell anyone.

We are looking forward to planning our holidays this year. Mum and Dad say that now we are older we can go a little further afield; I wonder where we could go. Any suggestions? Last year we just went two fields away and joined the field mice. I’d like to go and meet some of our city friends but that may be too far and Parchina thinks it might be scary. Oh well let’s see what Mum and Dad come up with.

Squeaks, Parchie and Parchina.
