Churchmouse – August

4 August 2016 By Sue

churchHello Friends

Time for me to tell you about some of the happenings for us mice. When the weather is fine we like to go out into the  field with our field mouse cousins, you can see them in the picture.

We like to run up and down the pieces of wheat and barley and sway on them. We have to be careful we get out of the way before the combines come and harvest or else we would be minced mice! It’s great fun though and we do like going outside to play with our friends in the fields. We tell them about all that goes on in church and they tell us about the other creatures they meet in the fields, some of them do sound rather scary.

We have had a fun month in church and we started with a wedding; Sue and Dave got married on the same day as  the Bell Competition. They were lucky to have their wedding over before all the teams of ringers came and rang and rang. It was a lovely day and we liked to see everyone looking so smart and happy. The bells competition started and our poor ears were sore from all the ringing. Poor Grandpa and Grandma mouse hid under a pile of kneelers! Everyone seemed to enjoy it and there were lots of people about to listen and see who the best team was.

We also had a Christening this month for baby Robert. Rev Cate baptized his older sister Rosie a couple of years ago and it was lovely to see the new addition to their family and welcome them into our church family.

I believe we have another wedding coming up soon, so more confetti for us to play with. We love collecting it and  making pictures with all the different shapes but it also makes rather nice soft bedding for us. Well, must dash as I can hear Dad calling us for our meal. I wonder what it will be, biscuit crumbs or perhaps something really yummy.

See you soon, Parchie and Parchina
