Bell News – Calling New Ringers!

In March we had some essential maintenance done on the church bells, including the replacement of bushes and pulleys, and the provision of new bell ropes. The cost of this has been covered by a grant from the Devon Church Bell Restoration Fund and fundraising by the bellringers themselves. The bells now ring much more smoothly. We currently continue to ring with six regular ringers for Thursday practices and Sunday 11.00am services, but are desperately in need of some new recruits. Latest News from the Bell Ringers – June

Following some very successful fund-raising, thanks as always to the generosity of local people, and a grant from the Devon Church Bell Restoration Fund, we have been able to have some essential maintenance done on the bells, including the replacement of bushes and pulleys, and the provision of new bell ropes. The bells now run very smoothly. It has been recommended by Nicholsons and the DCBRF that we should have the metal bell frame scraped and repainted and we would be interested if any local firm would to like submit an estimate. …

Payhembury Church Bells

Our village bells need some repairs and so we've decided to hold a fair next July to raise some money. If anyone is having a New Year clear out could you keep us in mind, as we're trying to build up a stock of Tombola prizes and books. Could any keen gardeners please raise a few extra plants for us, as we plan to have a plant stall too.
