Hi Everyone
We mice had a bit of a shock at the beginning of the month. We were looking forward to Harvest Festival as I wrote ast time but what a surprise we had with school’s Harvest Festival.
At first a few children arrived and hid behind our screen, “Oh,” we thought, “that’s funny; the children usually sit in rows.” Then someone came in and gave them something that really surprised us – mice masks, and they started to squeak just like us! Then the service started and the children told the story of Parchie and Parchina mice and family and about sharing harvest gifts. Well what a shock; the children were pretending tobe us!
Well at first we were cross, then we thought it was funny and then we decided on a plan. Parchina and I persuaded Mum and Dad to help us put on a show for all our mouse friends. SO we learned some songs, some dances and even wrote a little play about naughty children at school. Then we invited all our mouse friends in from the fields and hedges and houses and we put on a show for them up on top of the screen. It was such fun, we stopped half way through and Grandma and Granddad mice had made drinks and cookies and they served them to everyone.
It was a lovely evening and some of our mice friends who were having a hard time because their nests had been destroyed during harvest were so pleased to come in and have something nice to eat and drink. We even packed them up with some baskets of food to take with them. There were lots of crumbs and things left over from the Church Harvest Festival when little Jessica Sanders was christened and all her family and friends came. I’m glad they made lots of crumbs – more for us to share.
Well must dash now we’re practising our dances for our next show.
