They are arriving at a steady trickle ………lovely new born lambs. It never ceases to amaze me how new life is as thrilling now as it was when I started shepherding millions of years ago. I think the rams must have taken it a bit easy, hence the steady flow, in fact they must have had a few days off for sure as we haven’t had a lamb born for a few days now. After 
the terrible winds and rain, we have just turned out the first few ewes and lambs and, as you can see from the photo, its heads down straight away for the ewes as they haven’t seen a blade of grass for a few weeks since they came into the barn for lambing. I do hope, as you walk the lanes, you 
get a glimpse of the lambs playing.
This week we also hosted a wonderful afternoon for Friends of the Honiton Memory Café. 27 guests arrived and spent a wonderful time looking at all the ewes and lambs before enjoying a walk through the orchard and picking daffodils for them to take a bunch home. The display of daffodils this year is a real treat to see, with some 10 to 15 different varieties on show. This was followed by a lovely afternoon tea in the Stables with a lovely log fire burning and lots of chatter and questions about lambing.
