Sidmouth Junction Ploughing Match

2 October 2017 By Sue

The Sidmouth Junction Ploughing Match was held at Colliton Cross on the 10th September. We had an excellent field to plough kindly hosted by M/s Leach and family of Payhembury.

A cold and somewhat damp day did not spoil the event with the largest ever turnout of some 78 tractors, and a pair of horses, Sam and Tilly, who put on a wonderful show of horse ploughing.

The committee would like to thank everyone who helped make the day such a success. Sadly, our committee is getting smaller as the years go by; we need younger people to come forward and help or there will not be a match next year.
