Your Local Shop Buys Milk Locally

29 March 2015 By Sue

miscYou may have seen the recent BBC Countryfile programme describing the plight of the UK’s dairy farmers.

Payhembury Provisions is pleased to reassure its customers that unlike some wholesalers and supermarkets who drive prices down, the shop pays a fair price direct to the dairy itself. All the milk the shop sells comes from the Gundenham Dairy in Somerset. misc2This family farm has been producing milk for over 80 years and is proud to be one of the most successful independent retailers in the South West, supplying outlets within a 70 mile radius of the farm.

They have won Best Food Producer in the BBC Radio 4 Food and Farming awards and their milk is produced, pasteurised, bottled and distributed from the farm. This means that by buying your milk in Payhembury Provisions you are supporting the UK dairy industry by paying a fair price for your pint!
