Yellingham Farm – April

30 April 2016 By Sue

logLambing is now over and I cannot moan, because it was a good year apart from the odd problem, which is to be expected.

I have to say a huge thank you to Charlotte Porteous who has been a great assistant throughout lambing. She came before College and in the afternoons and just got on with whatever needed doing – a good Shepherd in the making. A keen youngster who listens and learns is a real asset – thanks Charlotte – same time next year ??

It is late at night as I write this and I have just been to a Devon Farms Accommodation meeting of which I am a very keen member. They are a fantastic organisation that promote us farms who provide Bed and Breakfast and Self Catering accommodation. To say that the competition is tough is an m1understatement and we are all passionate about welcoming guests to our farms to encourage them to experience, learn and love our countryside, just like we do.

So if any of you have friends or family coming to any part of Devon on holiday, get them to google Devon Farms – a great way to spend a holiday in some of the most beautiful parts of the countryside.

Janet
