Our Annual Members Meeting will be held on Friday 20th October at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall. Please come along – Payhembury is ‘your’ shop – a community shop managed by members of the community for everyone in the community.
During the meeting, we are always pleased to be able to give grants to local organisations. This is money raised from our weekly raffle. Recipients to date have included Tea and Bingo group, the Church – to resource the children’s area, and towards repairs to the bells; the Flower and Bulb show, committee to support the annual show; the school for new library books and other projects, and Applepips Toddlers group for new play resources.
Every organisation is welcome to apply for a grant. Send details of your request by email to davidcurran@gmail.com or drop it into the shop for the attention of David Curran.

On the subject of of the raffle we would like to say a huge thank you to Roz who organises it – the winner receiving £15 each week; at Christmas £50 and £25 and at Easter £25 and £15. All money received goes back into the village so please support it if you can. The more we make, the more we can give.
If you have popped into the shop over the last few days, you may have noticed some rather delicious new products ………
– A great range of Coolmore Cakes (Salted Caramel and Chocolate, Chocolate Orange, Fruity Loaf)
– Cake and Madeira, to name but a few. Feedback from customers has been very positive
– A new range of savoury biscuits and nibbles from West Country Legends, Cheddar Cheese Straws and Poppy and Sesame Seed Cocktail biscuits
– A new range of sweet biscuits from The Artful Baker; Salted Caramel and Pecan, Roasted Hazelnut, and Triple Belgian Chocolate Biscuit Bites
– Soft Amaretti biscuits, and a new range of yummy Teoni biscuits are back, as are Biscoff biscuits
– back by popular demand, and for the children we now have Pombears ideal for packed lunches
Our Loyalty Cards are proving to be very popular, if you haven’t got yours yet, they are available in the shop. Every purchase of £10 (excluding tobacco), will earn a stamp on your card, which when full can be redeemed for £8 to be spent in the shop, or to help pay off your account. Not bad, eh?!!!
We would all like to say a huge thank you to Anne Baxter for her dedication to the shop since it first opened, as an active committee member and Volunteers Co-ordinator – you will be greatly missed
Anne – a tough act to follow. BUT we are incredibly pleased to welcome Janet Dutfield who has agreed to take on the role and has hit the ground running. Many thanks Janet, lovely to have you on board.
And finally, it is always great to welcome volunteers back to our team and we are thrilled to welcome Louise Granger after a few years away. Lovely to have you back Louise.
