Payhembury Provisions December 2023 – Cards, Cards, Cards

24 November 2023 By Sue

It’s all about cards in Payhembury Provisions this festive season. Christmas cards, Greetings Cards and of course Loyalty Cards!! So many to choose from.

Payhembury artists Lucy Tweedie and Sue Derbyshire have both produced Christmas cards which are on sale in the shop.

Lucy – whose very popular birthday and greetings cards are regularly available in the shop, has created a beautiful bespoke Christmas card of the Village Green and The Six Bells, which we are selling in the shop in packs of 5, with proceeds going to the Church Roof Appeal. The demand for them has been so great – we sold out within a week! But worry not …. we are having another print run, so there will be more available for sale very soon.

Sue’s popular Christmas cards are back on sale again this year – beautiful as ever, with their charming images of the village at Christmas.

Rook Photo Cards are a collection of fabulous black and white photographs of scenes from the Blackdown Hills from local photographer Pauline Rook. They are quite stunning and a real celebration of the area around Blackborough. I’m thinking frames and Christmas presents!

How incredibly lucky we are to have so many talented, creative, artistic people in our local area.

Then of course there is our Loyalty Card. If you haven’t got yours yet, why not get one before Christmas and use it for your Christmas purchases – a stamp for every £10 spent, which when full, can be redeemed for £8.00 to spend in the shop. What’s not to like about that?

A few reminders about orders for Christmas – turkeys (not just any turkeys, Taste of the West 2023 award winning turkeys) from Rosamondford Farm near Aylesbeare, and meat from Veseys, Cullompton. Orders can be placed in the shop for delivery before Christmas. The order form for turkeys is in the shop now – last orders 11 th December, and Toni is taking orders for Veseys meat for deliveries on 19 th , 21 st and 23 rd of December (see Toni for order deadlines). Also in the shop currently are Christmas Puddings made locally at the Old Bakery Broadhembury. They look amazing and would make a wonderful gift.

If you are looking for wrapping paper, gift tags, stocking fillers, gifts, chocolates, biscuits, wines and spirits etc.etc, look no further, you will find them all in your local shop this Christmas. While you are in the shop during December, remember to buy a square (or 2) on our Christmas Raffle, you could win £50 first prize and £25 second prize to spend in the shop – and all raffle profits are put back into the community – many thanks to Roz for organising it again.

Finally, we would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and thank you for all your support and loyalty towards our wonderful little shop. A special thank-you to all our brilliant volunteers, without whom there would be no Payhembury Provisions!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.
