Parish Paper Finances – April 2014

20 April 2014 By Sue

moneyThe committee held its annual meeting in March where it was revealed that our bank balance is actually fairly healthy at the moment. However, this is mainly due to the envelopes put in the magazines which raised £352 and a generous donation of £150 from the shop, so we are well aware that we need to keep an eye on the ball.

Some people feel there are rather a lot of adverts in the paper, but without them we would not be able to give every household in the parish a FREE parish paper every month of the year. This year the income from advertising was £1,407 and there is no other way of raising this sort of money. Once again generous donations from everyone totaled £430 with £50 coming from the box in the shop.

It was decided at the meeting to put envelopes in the June issue of the parish paper again this year; we were in dire straits a couple of years ago and are keen to keep the finances on an even keel and avoid any further emergencies.

Once again, many thanks to all and keep it coming!
