Our Village – Payhembury, a Poem

30 April 2016 By Sue

mOur Village
In our village there’s lots to do
And taking part is up to you
There are choirs that sing
Bell-ringers who ring
Indoor bowls, on a short mat
I must admit, I’m partial to that
Pilates is good it keeps you trim
Classes for her, classes for him
Soup at St. Mary’s, a quiz at the pub
But no boy scouts, not even a cub
Applepips and babes are there in the hall
Bingo and biscuits, who’s gonna call
Coffee for mornings, a girls night out
Catch all the gossip from round and about
And helping out at Payhembury Provisions
Could be one of your better decisions
So when you ask “What is there to do”
There’s lots and lots, it’s up to you
The Parish mag, it lists all of these
So take your pick and do as you please.
