As I type this I’m looking out over a very wet cricket field with a very full River Tale lapping along the boundary . Its that time of year when the sheep are allowed in so the outfield is gradually turning to mud – it never ceases to amaze me how nature can turn a sodden muddy mess into the Payhembury equivalent of Lords in just a couple of months. Morning All After a somewhat curtailed but perhaps all the more enjoyable cricket season , we have our last game of the season along with a celebration ( if that’s the right word!) of the last couple of months , tomorrow evening, starting at 6pm. The bar will be open , all are welcome, although please note that food will only be available to players , scorers and umpires. You are of course welcome to bring your own picnic !
