Churchmouse – September

31 August 2017 By Sue

Hello friends,

In our last letter we said that we mice would be looking after the church while you were all away. Well we decided to hold pour own services when it was quiet, you can see us sitting in the pews. It was great fun, Granma and Dad lead the service, Mum did a lovely Bible reading from the Mice Bible, did you know we have one? It was telling us about how Jesus told his disciples off because they wouldn’t let the children come near him. Grandpa mouse sang a solo, not too sure what he sang, it was supposed to be all things bright and beautiful but it sounded very odd, not like when we have it at weddings. Then Parchina and I acted out another story of Jesus, when he calmed the storm, that was great fun. So you see we have been busy while you all have been away. But after a couple of weeks things started to happen again, we had Jenny and Matt’s wedding, great fun and then Angus was baptized and we enjoyed the singing better than Grandpa’s!

Soon school will be back, we believe they are going to be coming into church twice a week now, that will be great, we really enjoy their singing. Soon it will be Harvest Festival, but this year we heard that this will be Rev Cate’s last service with us, we are going to miss her and her funny puppets. I wonder who will take the services instead, we shall have to wait and see.

I do hope that the weather gets better. Parchina and I are a bit fed up getting our fur wet in the grass every time we go out, sometimes we feel more like fish than mice with all the water. Never mind we still have had some fun out in the fields with our field mice friends when the sun has popped its head out from the clouds. Well must go now, we are being called in for our tea and we don’t want to miss that. I wonder what it will be tonight, berry pie I expect.

Love Parchie and Parchina.
