Cricket Club

13 March 2024 By Sue

It seems mighty strange having just walked across a bog purporting to be a cricket field but in theory we should be limbering up for our first game of the season later in April away at Clyst Hydon, not our longest journey but Tale Lane isn’t always the easiest route to traverse!

Our First home game is in the Voneus Village Knock Out Cup, our only attempt at 40 Over cricket this summer, at home to the Cornish giants from Roche. Our approach could be likened to England’s less successful attempts at Bazball but on the positive side we have organised an indoor net this year – yes that’s correct, just the one net, we don’t want to use up all our good fortune before the season proper is underway. It’s a 1pm start, bar open, so hopefully a pleasant afternoon to take the family and dog out for a stroll and enjoy some mediocre quality cricket. For any newcomers interested this is a great opportunity to come down and say hello over a cold pint of Thatchers Gold .

Bring on the summer!

Jon
