Churchmouse – February

2 January 2016 By Sue

cate2Hi friends,

We hope you have had a great Christmas. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed having our field mouse friends with us. They were amazed at the Christmas tree in church; they enjoyed playing in the tree and swinging from the branches. Mum was very worried we would break the baubles, but we were very careful. We made some great swings out of the tinsel!

We played some great family games as well and spent a lot of time dressing up as different people. Parchina was very cheeky and found a piece of white plastic and tied it around her neck to look like Rev Cate, then she stood at the front of the church and tried to tell us all a story, it was really funny! I do hope no one tells Rev Cate!
But Christmas was really good fun, we enjoyed all the singing at the services and we even had a Christening when little Archie was Christened. It was lovely to see him and his family and he was so happy.

I have to say we are a little disappointed that we haven’t had any snow, we love snow balling and sliding down the roof of the church on our toboggans. We haven’t been able to do that for so long I expect our toboggans are covered in cobwebs. Perhaps we can find out how to make artificial snow in the future and have our own snow slides.

Well a new year has started and we are looking forward to lots of exciting things to come after the holidays. The children will be back in church for their usual services. We do love their singing and we hope that someone might keep the heating on longer so our toes will keep warm. We are also looking forward to more soup lunches, as we love to pick up the crumbs people leave afterwards. Parchina and I rush around the church and have races to see how many we can pick up in a minute and also who can carry the most. I have to say Parchina is really fast.

Well we must rush off now and peep outside to look.

Happy New Year, Parchie and Parchina and family
